What is faster-now?

A browser-based tool that connects to your e-bike over USB and lets you read every parameter and reconfigure your bike yourself — speed setting and wheel size (and firmware on supported Specialized motors). No app to install.

Which bikes are supported?

We currently support two systems, each with its own tool:

Pick your system from the front page — the tool reads your bike and shows what it can do.

What do I need?

A computer with Chrome or Edge, and a data USB cable to your bike. That's it — the tool opens at faster-now.com and talks to the bike directly from your browser. No drivers, no app.

How do I connect my bike?

You connect over a data USB cable from the bike to your computer, then click Connect bike and pick your bike from the list. The exact port depends on your system:

Specialized

Through the USB port on the bike's display/TCU — USB-C on newer (MasterMind) units, Micro-USB on some older models.

  1. Power the bike off.
  2. Reach the USB port on the display. On MasterMind units you unscrew the display (Torx TX10), lift it out of the frame, and open the rubber USB seal.
  3. Connect a data USB cable from the display to your computer. Many TCUs power on automatically — if yours doesn't, press the power button to turn the bike on after connecting.
  4. Open the tool, click Connect bike, and select your bike from the list.

Fazua Ride 50 (evation)

  1. Remove the small plastic cover on the drive pack with a T10 Torx key.
  2. Connect the cable to the USB connector port (Mini-USB) on the drive pack (shown below), and the other end to your computer.
  3. Open the Fazua tool, click Connect bike, and select evation from the list.

⚠️ Use a proper data cable. A lot of USB cables are charge-only and carry power but no data — if your bike isn't detected, that's by far the most common reason. Try another cable.
Will it brick my bike?

Reading your bike is completely safe — it only asks the bike for information. Configuration changes (speed setting, wheel size) are reversible and don't touch the firmware. On Specialized, firmware updates are validated and gated; the Fazua tool only changes the speed and wheel settings. We designed it to fail safely: a bad value is rejected by the bike rather than applied.

Is it reversible?

Yes. Reconnect any time and set values back to where they were. Once your bike is activated, you can adjust it as often as you like at no extra cost. Exception: Specialized Generation 4 (BD03 / BDA3) is configured for you via remote support and is not self-service — each change is a separate, paid configuration.

Is it legal?

Reading and diagnostics are fine everywhere. Changing your speed setting above your region's pedelec limit generally makes the bike no longer road-legal (it can count as a moped/motorcycle that needs registration and insurance). faster-now is intended for authorized, off-road and private-land use. You decide how you use your bike and you are responsible for complying with local law. See our Terms.

How much does it cost?

For most bikes a one-time payment of €129 activates your bike. After that, all future parameter changes for that bike are free for as long as the service is available — adjust speed, wheel size (and firmware on Specialized) whenever you want. It's a one-time payment for access, not a subscription; we don't guarantee the service will run forever, and a manufacturer's future update could change what's possible.

Specialized Generation 4 (BD03 / BDA3) is priced differently: a one-time €249 covers a single configuration performed for you via remote support (BD03 up to 45 km/h; BDA3 / S-Works up to 20 mph). Unlike our other systems it is not self-service — you can't change it yourself afterwards, and each further change is a separate configuration.

Is my payment secure?

Payment runs on Stripe's secure hosted checkout. We never see or store your card details. You'll see your payment reference for your records.

Do I need a dealer?

No — it's fully self-service. If you'd rather have a shop do it, participating dealers can activate and configure your bike for you.

What data do you keep?

Your frame serial, a summary of the read-out, and your payment reference — used to enable your bike, provide support and keep an audit trail. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Can I get a refund?

See our Refund Policy. Because activation is delivered instantly, please read it before paying.

Can I become a dealer?

Yes — if you'd like to activate bikes for others, get in touch at info@faster-now.com.
